GRAF 600L Effluent and Drainage Pump Station

The GRAF 600 litre pump station collects and pumps treated effluent, drainage water or rainwater where gravity discharge cannot serve the site. Its compact polyethylene chamber suits domestic, commercial and agricultural applications.

Liquid enters the underground chamber through the inlet pipe. When the water reaches the pump’s start level, the automatic float switch activates the pump. The pump then transfers the liquid through the rising main to the required discharge point.

Therefore, this pump station can overcome differences in ground level and serve sites where the receiving drain, percolation area or other approved outlet sits above the incoming pipework.

Pedrollo TOP 2 pump option

The Pedrollo TOP 2 is a 230V drainage pump with a 0.37 kW output. Its published curve reaches a maximum shut-off head of approximately 8.5 metres. However, the available flow reduces as the pumping head increases.

Consequently, an installer must calculate the total dynamic head before selecting the pump. This calculation should include the vertical lift and friction losses through the pipe, bends, valves and fittings.

Installation and maintenance

A competent installer should assess the liquid type, pumping distance, vertical lift, pipe diameter and required flow rate. In addition, the electrical installation should include appropriate protection and comply with current requirements.

The system must provide safe access for inspecting the chamber, cleaning the filter and servicing the pump. Finally, test the pump, float switches, alarm and non-return valve before commissioning.
